The guest lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science was Dragan Pleskonjich, a cybersecurity expert and owner of Glog.ai.
The guest lecture on the topic "Sources of Threats and Security of National Large Financial Systems" was aimed at a systemic analysis of the risks and threats affecting critical financial infrastructures at the state level. The lecture covered technical, organizational and geopolitical sources of threats, including cyberattacks, internal abuses, financial fraud, attacks on payment systems, as well as risks associated with dependence on third parties and external ICT service providers. Special emphasis was placed on the protection of interbank transaction systems such as SWIFT, as well as national central banking platforms and clearing mechanisms operated by institutions such as the European Central Bank, analyzing examples of real incidents and their impact on financial stability. The lecture also covered the concepts of cyber resilience, risk management, business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR), as well as the application of international standards and regulations (Basel framework, ISO 27001, NIS directive). Students gained a deeper understanding of the complexity of protecting financial ecosystems, where security is not only a technical issue, but also a matter of regulatory compliance, institutional coordination and national security. Such interdisciplinary analysis allows for the development of strategic thinking and the ability to assess risks in the context of critical infrastructure with a high level of sensitivity and systemic importance.
