PhD Slavko Vidovich, owner of InfDom from Croatia, gave a lecture at the Faculty of Computer Science .
The guest lecture on the topic "Experiences from the Digital Transformation of Croatia" offered a systematic analysis of the institutional, technological and regulatory aspects of the process of digital modernization of the public sector and the economy. The lecture reviewed the strategic documents and reform steps initiated by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, with a special focus on the establishment of centralized digital services through the e-Građani platform, which provides access to administrative services, personal documents, health and education data in electronic form. The role of the Ministry of Justice and Administration in the coordination of reforms, as well as the impact of European funds and regulations on the process of digital integration, were also analyzed. The lecture also covered the challenges related to the interoperability of systems, cybersecurity, protection of personal data and the need for continuous education of public administration. The importance of national digital identities, electronic signatures and centralized registries as a foundation for efficient and transparent public administration was particularly emphasized. The students gained insight into concrete examples of the transformation of public services, the reduction of administrative barriers and the improvement of the user experience, while emphasizing the importance of a long-term strategy, political support and technical expertise. Such analysis allows for a critical understanding of digital transformation as a complex process that integrates technology, governance and social trust in institutions.
