Today we had an expert from Stopanska Banka, Mr. Ivica Gjorgievski, who gave a lecture to students from the Faculty of Computer Science .
The guest lecture on the topic of "Ethical Hacking" was aimed at a systematic understanding of offensive techniques for testing the security of information systems, applied in a legal and ethical context in order to detect and remove vulnerabilities. The lecture covered the basic principles of penetration testing, the phases of ethical hacking (reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation, maintaining access and reporting), as well as the methodologies defined in modern security frameworks. Special emphasis was placed on the practical use of tools such as Kali Linux, Metasploit and Wireshark, through which students gained insight into real scenarios of testing web applications, network infrastructure and system configuration. Additionally, the legal and ethical aspects of this discipline were analyzed, including the responsibility of security experts, compliance with contractual obligations and data protection. The lecture contributed to the development of awareness of the proactive approach in cybersecurity, where controlled simulation of attacks is a key instrument for strengthening the resilience of organizations. Such content allowed the connection of theoretical knowledge with practical application and the development of analytical and critical competencies among students in the domain of modern digital security.
